So, the jet lag has finally gone away. At least we should be getting some sleep from now onwards. There's been a good deal of dog walking. To put that straight, we walk; the dog goes mental chasing rabbits over hills and flats and so far has not attained Nike status - Second for Oban is generally the first last. At least there's always a refreshing swim to be had.

That's Dublin Bay , a quiet spot just a few km from Wanaka. We had a good after-breakfast walk there the other morning and as is usual here, you never see another soul about.
A great trek, again, only minutes from the house is Iron Mountain - always busy early morning with runners pounding up what is quite a steep hill above the the town.

Those clouds seem to appear every day at this time of the year. So far, whilst they would hang about all day in Edinburgh, they soon begin to burn off, leaving fabulous photo opportunities. Above, here's looking over Lake Wanaka and the glacial valley which was left over 10,000 years ago.

That's a 360 degree looking this time over Lake Hawea which lies parallel to Lake Wanaka.

The mornings have been so enticing that some 15 months after being diagnosed with "dodgy OAP knee" syndrome, G has even begun to 'run' before breakfast again. I used to do half-marathons you know...
PS This is post-, not pre-outing.
Whare Kea's grounds, G & O's home, is looking fantastic at this time of the year. Even though we've only been here a week, the season is changing fast. As soon ad the sun drops below the mountains, the chill descends rapidly.
